The F-BOX is the name for a series of experiments that in the end will lead to the creation of a machine which produces sound by means of a computer and a mold score. The ever-changing form and color of the mold will not only influence the evolution of a musical sequence, but at the same time the color of the sounds that compose it.

For the artist, David De Buyser, the F-BOX is more than an object: it reflects a coming together of his roots as a composer of electronic music and two of his former projects. Where in the Acoustic Mirror-installations ( am_moss and am_foam) different materials served as media which reflect and absorb both sound and light, in the F-BOX the presence of mold and the different forms it takes, will be decisive for the kind of sound it produces.

A collaboration with Lahaag's Version-project will emphasize the the process-focused approach on the F-BOX. Rather then creating the final object, the most important about the next two year's efforts is to trace which are the underlying schematics that effectuate both the intellectual creative process and the actions taken to execute ideas.

This wiki contains information on the F-BOX, it's related projects and their developement processes.
